The National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers (NCIEC)

Welcome to the National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers!
Six federally funded Interpreter Education Centers established the National Consortium in 2006 as a way to maximize expertise, leadership, and fiscal resources toward the shared goal of enhancing sign language interpreting education. Through collaboration among the Centers and with partnering organizations and individuals, we built effective practice foundations for the work that continues today.
Our new website is designed topically around our key areas of focus. Be sure to open the main navigation bar tabs before viewing the content in the drop down menus. The main tabs provide an overview of what is inside.
Please visit often to see our website evolve. Look for new educational products, publications, and announcements of upcoming events of interest to a wide audience of interpreter educators and mentors, current and aspiring interpreters, consumers of interpreting services, and vocational rehabilitation service providers.
